Tom Seeber awarded APGA and Australian Gas Industry Trust Scholarship to attend the 20th Joint Technical Meeting on Pipeline Research in Paris, May 2015
Tom Seeber, Atteris Lead Pipeline Engineer, is one of four young Australian pipeline engineers selected to receive a scholarship to attend the 20th Joint Technical Meeting on Pipeline Research which is organised by The Pipeline Research Council International (PRCI) and will be hosted by the European Pipeline Research Group (EPRG) in Paris, France.
Tom will attend the Joint Technical Meeting (JTM) which is a world-class forum where representatives of EPRG, the Research and Standards Committee of the Australian Pipeline and Gas Association (APGA-RSC), and PRCI meet every two years to exchange information concerning their recent and ongoing research activities. The JTM reflects the most significant collaboration in pipeline research formed by the tripartite partnership of PRCI, EPRG, and APGA who together have members operating on six continents.
As part of the JTM, Tom will also participate in the discussions around an international young pipeliners forum with other representatives from the Young Pipeliners Association of Canada and the Young Pipeline Professionals of the US.
Following the JTM, Tom and the other young pipeline engineers will embark on a study tour of Europe visiting TOTAL and GDF Suez pipeline research laboratories in France, steel works and pipe mills in Düsseldorf and Hamm, the Rosen Research and Technology Centre, Snam pipeline operation in and around Venice, and the Enagas LNG Terminal in Barcelona.
On their return, the four engineers will write an article about the JTM, international young pipeliners forum, and their technical visits for publication in the Australian Pipeliner Magazine.
