Dan is the focal point for engineering and design processes, systems, resources, and training and development of engineers to ensure provision of efficient and effective engineering services. Dan is a Senior Consultant and is a member of the Atteris Management Team.
Dan graduated from Heriot-Watt University with a Bachelor of Engineering in civil and offshore engineering and has 15 years’ experience in the subsea and pipeline industry. His geographical experience covers the UK’s North Sea, Gulf of Thailand, and Australia. Dan has worked on numerous subsea tie-back and greenfield projects; designing rigid riser and spool systems, subsea piping and subsea pipelines. Since locating to Perth, Australia in 2005, Dan has experienced major capital projects including Chevron’s Greater Gorgon Development and numerous brownfield engineering scopes in support to operations. Dan’s motivation and leadership has seen him take up engineering and project management roles in the later part of his career.
Dan is a reliable and motivational mentor for many engineers with varying levels of experience and is always willing to dedicate time to listen to his mentees. At his previous place of work, Dan was a part of a structured mentor program but since joining Atteris, Dan continues mentoring his old mentees on an informal basis as well as the Atteris engineers. Supporting Atteris’ contribution to the industry, Dan assists in the writing and review of Offshore Pipeline Engineering Competency Standards which are being developed for industry by the Australia Pipeline Industry Association (APIA) and Energy Pipelines CRC.
