Atteris Pty Ltd today announced the appointment of Dermot O’Brien as the company’s new General Manager. Dermot’s appointment will play a crucial role in supporting Atteris’ continual growth strategy in the subsea and pipeline engineering business. Dermot, who has been with Atteris for the past eight years, comes with more than 25 years of industry experience.
Commenting on his appointment, Dermot said, “I am delighted to have been granted this opportunity to take on the role of General Manager. Having consolidated our capabilities and market position during the lean years of the recent downturn, I believe Atteris is ideally positioned to grow and benefit from the green shoots of recovery we currently see in the energy industry. I look forward to this new chapter leading our dedicated and hard-working team to future success.”
Eric Jas, who has been Atteris’ founder and its General Manager for nearly 20 years, will continue in a fulltime role with Atteris as Strategy & Development Manager and as a Principal Consultant. Eric will also continue as the chair of ME38/4, the standards subcommittee for AS2885.4 (Submarine Pipelines), and remain a member of the Pipeline Engineering Competency Panel with Engineers Australia. In Eric’s own words: “I am thrilled to have Dermot as our General Manager. We have worked towards this change within our Atteris Leadership Team for some time; good preparation and planning is instrumental in our engineering work; it appears to also apply in major changes in a business”.
